CALLING ALL ALUMNI: SUMBIT YOUR HAIKU TO BRONZEMAN BOOKS!
Bronze Man BooksBronze Man Books is pleased to announce the Millikin University Haiku Anthology, a publication that will celebrate and showcase the work of the Millikin haiku community. The anthology will collect the best haiku by current and former students, staff and faculty at Millikin. It will also feature new haiku through an open submission process.
Dr. Randy Brooks, dean of teaching and learning and chair for the English department, has taught haiku at Millikin since 1999 and his program was recently named “undoubtedly the best English-language haiku program of any school in the country” by Cor van den Heuvel, editor of 2007’s “Baseball Haiku.” The international haiku community is eagerly awaiting Millikin’s anthology and we are excited to open the alumni submission call.
Bronze Man Books invites alumni to submit up to 20 of their new or edited haiku review and possible inclusion. Please send your haiku digitally to email@example.com by Feb. 1, 2007. Please be sure to include you name, address, e-mail address and telephone number. Every entrant will receive notification from the editing team at the end of the review process. Published authors will receive an unlimited half-off discount for the anthology, due out on Oct. 11, 2008. If you have any questions please direct them to Emily Evans, alumni editor, at the address above.
Additionally, to mark the beginning of the submission period, Bronze Man Books will be hosting a “Haiku Slam” on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007 on campus. Haiku will be read side-by-side in a tournament style and only the best authors will advance. We cordially invite all poets to register for this exciting event by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Each poet must come with 25 prepared haiku and an adventurous spirit. Please check www.bronzemanbooks.com or e-mail the above address for more information.
