Chapbook Release & Book Signing - Pilling Chapel, Millikin University • May 1, 2010

On May 1, 2010, Bronze Man Books celebrated the release of a new hand-sewn chapbook, Moon's Edge, a collection of tanka poetry by Natalie Perfetti. The book features drawings by Laramie Hutchens and graphic design by Sarah Wika and Katie Baird. Bound with Japanese-stiching, this new collection went on sale May 1, 2010. This chapbook was produced in-house with Japanese sewing for binding. See the sew-fest photos.

April Poetry Night - Decatur Area Arts Council • April 26, 2010

The Decatur Area Arts Council and Bronze Man Books, a Millikin University press, are hosting A Night of Poetry in celebration of national Poetry Month on Monday, April 26th, 2010 at the Anne Lloyd Gallery in the Madden Arts Center located in downtown Decatur. The evening will begin at 6:30pm and will continue until 9pm. Refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. Musical entertainment will be provided by Millikin University student Matt Skinner, with featured readers including Millikin professors: Stephen Frech, Carmella Braniger, and Randy Brooks. Also presenting will be Millikin students, as well as a group of students from Richland Community College. The readings will be followed by an open mic session for all poets—experienced or novice. This event is an opportunity to hear great poetryand perhaps participate as well.

Mid-Illinois Chapter of the Red Cross is hosting the Heartland Heroes Awards Dinner featuring Sarah Johnson, survivor and author of OOPS! Did I Say That? 5-9pm Decatur Conference Center and Hotel • March 3, 2010

The Mid-Illinois Chapter is honoring ordinary citizens who have done extraordinary things at the 2010 Heartland Heroes awards dinner scheduled for Wednesday, March 3 at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Individuals will be recognized in the following categories: Young Courage Award, Citizenship Award, Valor Award, and the Everyday Hero Award.

BRONZE MAN BOOKS invites you to a special gathering, the Millikin University Coalition Against Cancer. Thursday, November 5 at 7:00pm in Perkinson Gallery at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center. Millikin University organizations including Coaches Vs. Cancer, Delta Delta Delta, Up Til Dawn, and other groups will share their efforts in the fight against cancer.
